A hidden gem. Me and my sister went here today and they had hundreds (if not thousands) of books. They had plenty of pocket books, paperbacks, and hardcovers with a wide variety of genres. Will definitely be visiting again. Definitely recommend.

One of the last places you will find rows of books, sad that there are very few left but this place is a cultural treasure.

Books, CDs, DVDs, Blu-Ray, and more. One of the few independent booksellers left in Riverside. Large selection of SciFi. Owner says you may trade your old books for store credit. Or donate books you don’t want any more.

This place is one of the last great bookstores of it's kind. It's just like the bookstore at the beginning of the movie 'Neverending Story' !! If 'barns and noble' is Goliath this place is David.

This is the best used-book shop in the area. The shelves are stacked two-deep and there are many piles of used books on the floor and atop any reasonably flat surfaces. Despite the overabundance of books, the owner keeps it neat and (fairly) well organized. There are also new books — hardcovers and paperbacks — including some that may be of fairly esoteric interest. Fans of science fiction and fantasy, as well as mysteries, will find lots to like here. You’ll find little collections of books that may be of special interest, such as a nice collection of Hispanic authors. There’s also a nice selection of new DVDs/Blu-rays that includes many foreign films, Asian and European. Set aside a couple of hours for your visit. Bonus: across the street you’ll find antiques and thrift stores.

A quaint hidden gem! There's plenty of used books for good prices. If you're into sci-fi, there's a good selection of mass fiction paperbacks for that. You definitely need to take your time browsing because they have everything.

My sister found out about this bookstore on TikTok and our experience there definitely delivered! It's a good size shop & a book lovers dream with stacks & shelves full of new/used reads. We went there with a list of rare finds and they had it all...definitely going back!

I had a wonderful experience at Renaissance Bookshop, Music & Movies in Riverside. I was searching for a specific hardcover book that was not currently in stock, but Gene Berkman went above and beyond to help. Instead of simply telling me he didn't have it, he took the time to recommend several websites where I could find the book at a very reasonable price. Thanks to his guidance, I found exactly what I was looking for, and the deal was so good that I ended up ordering two books. Gene Berkman and Jayne Hanson clearly care about their customers and have a genuine passion for books. Their knowledge, friendliness, and willingness to help make this shop a true gem in Riverside. I highly recommend Renaissance Bookshop to anyone looking for books, music, movies, and outstanding customer service.
